Charlotte Brontë
Charlotte, who first published her works under the pseudonym Currer Bell, released Jane Eyre in 1847, followed by Shirley (1849), Villette (1853) and The Professor which was released posthumously in 1857.
Born 21 April 1816, Charlotte Brontë was an English novelist and poet. She was the eldest of four Brontë siblings (out of six) who survived to adulthood; her two sisters, Anne and Emily, also published novels and poems that have become beloved literary classics.
She outlived all her siblings and was the only one of them to marry However, she died with her unborn baby on 31 March 1855.
- Arguably the most well-known of the Brontë sisters.
- JANE EYRE had been adapted numerous times for both TV and Film.
- Her novel SHIRLEY, popularised the name being used for girls, previously it had been considered a male name.
