Lousia May Alcott
Alcott’s works introduced readers to educated strong female lead characters and her writing style is said to have greatly impacted American literature.
Born 29th November 1832, Louisa May Alcott was one of the nineteenth century’s most pioneering writers.
She is best known for her two-part novel Little Women (Part One 1868, Part Two: Good Wives 1869) and its following sequels Little Men (1871) and Jo’s Boys (1886). Alcott died on March 6th 1888.
- Alcott worked as a nurse for six weeks during the American Civil War.
- She wrote LITTLE WOMEN in 10 weeks.
- She wanted JO to be a literary spinster and not marry her off at the end of the novel.
