Emily Brontë
Born July 30th, 1818, Emily Brontë was an English novelist and poet. She was the middle sister of the Brontë siblings who survived to adulthood. Her two sisters, Anne and Charlotte, also published novels and poems that have become beloved literary classics.
Emily, who first published her work under the pseudonym Eliss Bell, released only one novel, Wuthering Heights (1847) and a collection of powerful poetry. Soon after the publication of Wuthering Heights, Emily fell ill and died in December 1848.
- Wuthering Heights is often mistaken as a romance, even though it is a gothic novel.
- She is one of the most well known of the Brontë sisters.
